How it works
Send one text with your station, the trains you usually catch, and how far you are from the platform. That's the whole setup. Don't know your minutes? Send your address and say walk, drive, or bike.
What you get
- One short text when your train's timing changes by 3 minutes or more.
- A "leave now" text timed to your walk or drive, not the schedule.
- The same thing in the evening, timed from your desk to Union Station.

By texting MinutesBack you agree to receive automated commute alert texts from Automation Vita LLC: about 3 per riding day, 4 maximum. Message and data rates may apply. Privacy
We store your phone number and your commute settings. We do not sell or share them. We use them to send you these texts, and to make sure a number that opted out is never texted again. Text STOP and we stop right away and delete your commute settings. We keep the opt-out record for as long as MinutesBack runs. The messages you sent us expire after 180 days.
This page counts visits. When we are running an ad it also loads Google's advertising tag, which sends Google your IP address, your browser and device details, the page address, and sets cookies, on every visit to this page whether or not you sign up. Your phone number is not part of that, because you sign up by text and the text never reaches this page. No other page on this site loads the tag. To refuse it, block third-party scripts or text the number directly instead of using the button.
